58 Länder bewerben sich für den Oscar
Am Dienstag wurde in Beverly Hills, Kalifornien, die Liste der Anwärter für den besten ausländischen Film veröffentlicht. Insgesamt bewerben sich 58 Länder um die goldene Statue, neu dabei sind Costa Rica, Fiji und Irak. Die Nominierungen werden wie in jedem Jahr am letzten Dienstag des Januars aus dem Academy’s Samuel Goldwyn Theater bekannt gegeben, einen Tag nach der Golden Globe-Verleihung. Am 31. Januar 2006 wird die Welt um 05.30 Uhr Los Angeles-Ortszeit erfahren, welche Filme für den ausländischen Film in Frage kommen und welche Filme für die weiteren 23 Kategorien in Frage kommen.
