Die Gewinner der 64. Primetime Emmys

Radikaler Trendwechsel bei den Emmys: Bei den in der Nacht vom Sonntag auf den Montag verliehenen 64. Primetime Emmys wurde die vierjährige Erfolgssträhne von «Mad Men» gebrochen. Die hoch gefeierte AMC-Serie erhielt keinerlei Auszeichnung, als beste Drama-Serie wurde dagegen «Homeland» von Showtime prämiert. Mit drei weiteren Emmys, und zwar in den Kategorien "Bestes Drehbuch einer Drama-Serie" sowie für den besten Hauptdarsteller und die beste Hauptdarstellerin einer Dramaserie, gehörte das Format zu den Abräumern des Abends. Ebenfalls vier Auszeichnungen gingen an die Comedyserie «Modern Family» und den HBO-Fernsehfilm «Game Change». Abseits dessen, dass «Mad Men» eine Nullnummer hinlegte, dürfte die größte Überraschung des Jahres in der Kategorie "Bester Hauptdarsteller einer Comedy-Serie" stattgefunden haben: Der zuvor als Favorit gefeierte Jim Parsons ging für «The Big Bang Theory» leer aus, als Gewinner ging «Two and a Half Men»-Darsteller Jon Cryer hervor.
