65. Primetime Emmy Awards: Die Gewinner

Gewinner der diesjährigen Emmy-Awards war einmal mehr HBO mit 27 Preisen, danach folgte CBS mit 16 Auszeichnungen. NBC belegte mit elf Preisen den dritten Rang, Showtime kam insgesamt auf vier Stück. Das Online-Angebot Netflix schaffte mit seinen Produktionen immerhin drei Preise. «Behind The Candelabra», ein HBO-Drama von Steven Soderbergh, dominierte die Gala mit insgesamt elf Emmys. Zweistärkstes Format war «Boardwalk Empire» (HBO) mit fünf Auszeichnungen. Immerhin vier bekamen die Unterhaltungsshow «Saturday Night Live» (NBC) und «66th Annual Tony Awards» (CBS).

Erstmals durfte sich «Breaking Bad» über den Gewinn der besten Serie freuen. Das Drama, das am 29. September 2013 endet, wurde schon mehrfach nominiert. Unterdessen ging der dreifache Emmy-Sieger Bryan Cranston leer aus, er musste das Feld an Jeff Daniels von «The Newsroom» räumen (Bester Hauptdarsteller einer Drama-Serie). Im vergangenen Jahr holte noch Damian Lewis für seine Leistung in «Homeland» einen Preis. Apropos Showtime: Claire Danes verteidigte ihre Auszeichnung und hat inzwischen den zweiten Emmy für ihre Leistung in «Homeland» bekommen.
